Aboriginal Responsible Gambling – Health and Wellness

In response to Ontario's expanded gambling opportunities, the Ministry of Health funds a special Problem Gambling Project. The MNO negotiated with that Ministry to deliver this program to Ontario's Métis people.

This research project sought to study the patterns of cigarette smoking among Aboriginal Canadian youths and to assess the associated accrual of cardiovascular risk factors at an early age.

This program assists Aboriginal people in addressing alcohol/drug issues and minimizing the negative effects of substance abuses for Aboriginal individuals, families, and communities.

Oh-shki-be-ma-te-ze-win Inc. is a Tribal Agency mandated by the Fort Frances Area Tribal Chiefs, to provide alcohol and drug treatment services to its membership.

The Mobile Health and Addictions Outreach Team's primary focus is to assist and provide medical care and services to Aboriginal people who are at high risk of homelessness.

Ngwaagan Gamig Recovery Centre Inc. (Rainbow Lodge)

The Rainbow Lodge is a substance abuse treatment centre that provides a culturally-based program for its Aboriginal clientele, while encouraging spiritual, physical and emotional well-being.

The Problem Gambling Awareness Program offers information and various support services to people dealing with gambling problems.
