NTGO provides analysis, information and advice to individuals, communities, governments, and the mining and petroleum industry in the Northwest Territories.
Includes guidelines and application documents for funding that GRRB provides to organizations conducting projects that will assist with renewable resources management in the GSA.
Monitors and collects data on mining and mineral exploration in Northern Canada. Promotes mining investment and provides information and technical advice to a wide variety of clients.

This service includes the delivery of the Northern Scientific Training Program, the Northern Science Award and the provision of federal coordination with respect to Northern Science and Technology in Canada: Framework and Research Plan.

Projects must deal with renewable resources in the SSA and proponents must have begun the consultation process with the community Renewable Resources Councils in order to be considered for funding.
The goals are to improve the ability of communities and scientists to discuss how community life may change in the future and how communities may be able to shape changes to reflect community values.
