The Recreation Program at the Skookum Jim Friendship Centre organizes and supports recreational, cultural and sports-related initiatives to foster the development of First Nations.
These two programs aim to provide early intervention and offer healthier alternatives for First Nation youth and their families who come in conflict with the law.
Located in Whitehorse, this facility is geared towards at-risk youth; services include community justice and youth counselling, an art gallery, an information technology program, and a visual literacy program.
The Council's purpose is to advice the CYFN Leadership and Yukon First Nations people on all issues concerning First Nations, such as traditional knowledge, cultural and spiritual values.
